There’s A Giant Lobster In Shediac?!

Due to COVID-19 in New Brunswick, Canada closed it’s border to non-essential travel. To keep me busy, I’ve been reading books and biking with my friends, Eden and Caleb. We’ve been going to Parlee beach in Shediac to enjoy summer, and the water is nice and warm with a nice sandy shore. The waters of the Northumberland Strait are some of the warmest ocean waters on the east coast of North America. Shediac is home to the world’s biggest Giant Lobster and longest lobster rolls in the world. Shediac got the title in 2018. At the beach with my friend, Kaylia, we’ve been finding clams, snails, and hermit crabs. The water comes and goes which creates sand bars. Me and my friend swim in them. The Giant Lobster is super cool, it’s a huge statue of a red lobster with a fisherman standing in front. It makes a really cool picture. My favorite pose is to sit on the top like I’m riding it, but it’s hard to climb on the top like that and you could slip and fall. So be careful!

Where I live is a beautiful tourist destination. In the summer and in the fall, cruise ships dock at Saint John’s port in the Bay of Fundy. It has the highest tides in the world, and tourists come and visit Reversing Falls, Hopewell Rocks, Saint Martin Sea Caves, St. Andrews-by-the-Sea for whale watching, Campobello Island, Cape Enrange, and many more.

What I like about New Brunswick is that there are many mountains so you can get a good exercise when biking or hiking. There’s rivers and waterfalls everywhere. This summer we found this place called Gordon Falls. We’ve been swimming in the swimming holes, and we plan to camp at Fundy National Park. New Brunswickers love to explore and enjoy the outdoors. Being locked down in New Brunswick is not too bad. Right now, all we can do is sit and enjoy the beautiful landscape and nature that this province has to offer.

When traveling is allowed, I hope that people can come and visit New Brunswick and have a great time and try the famous lobster roll and lobster too. I live in Florida in the winter time, but I love to spend summer in New Brunswick. To find out more about New Brunswick check their website https://tourismnewbrunswick.ca/
