Are you an avid hiker? Well, I have some news for you! There are soooo many awesome trails in North America. Here in the east coast Appalachian Trail starts or ends from Georgia to Maine, USA, and it continues to New Brunswick and Gaspé Peninsula in Quebec, Canada. When my family goes camping every year, we camp at Fundy National Park or Kouchibouguac National Park. Both parks have some pretty great trails, but we only hiked the easy or intermediate trails.
There’s another park that we’ve never explored since moving to New Brunswick in 2013. (During the pandemic in 2020, a lot of people from other provinces move to New Brunswick.) I think people move out of the city and choose to live in less populated area.
Fundy Park Trail is in the same coast as Fundy National Park, (Atlantic Ocean) and this year the road that connects the two parks was finally completed. There is a fee to enter the park. Fundy Park Trail is a family place to go for a walk, have a picnic, bike, kayak, scenic drive, swim, and relax. The view of the ocean is very relaxing while hiking. You can make your way to cross the suspension footbridge. This is not too scary because it is not too high compare to other footbridges that I’ve been to. It’s only 84m (275ft). The river water is so clear that it looks so inviting to swim in.
The highlight of the park for us is the Walton Glen Falls. It’s the “Grand Canyon of the East Coast”. It’s only a short walk to the observation deck and there you will see the breathtaking view. I created a Reel on my Instagram account. Here’s the link: https://www.instagram.com/reel/ChelE6hlfmC/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= @arielaonthego.
There is a challenging trail that starts in Fundy Trail Parkway to Fundy National Park, it is called Fundy Foothpath. It’s located down below from where we were standing. We have a family friend who hiked the whole trail three times already. The fastest he did it was in three days. 😳 that one you legit have to climb a mountain, bring your own food, and sleep in a tent until you finish. Its an achievement, like climbing Mt. Everest! Maybe not that much, but you know what I mean.
Here’s the link of Fundy Trail Parkway to learn more about it! When you visit New Brunswick, Canada, I hope you consider visiting one of the parks.
Bye for now and enjoy the outdoors!
We didn’t make it to Fundy National Park but did spen a day at nearby Hopewell Rocks. Such a beautiful part of the province. Maggie
That’s still great! 😛
We saw the Fundy Trail in New Brunswick..great images.
Thank you!
Great photos, Ariela. It looks so inviting! 🙂
Thank you Cheryl!
Is that near the Bay of Fundy? I’ve heard so much about that with their record-breaking tides! I love this CBC show called Race Against the Tide, which is sand sculptors who do their carvings before the tide comes in. It’s really cool!
Yep! I live right beside the Bay of Fundy, and we have some of the highest tides in the world! Can’t remember if it’s THE highest though. Oooohohohoho, Race Against the Tide-I’ve heard of that one!
Nice! That must be so cool!
