My Weird Family

My family is weird. We’re not your average family because we live half of the year in Orlando, Florida USA and in New Brunswick, Canada and we do a lot of traveling in between. We are what some people called “Snowbirds”. We spend summer in Canada and winter in Florida, USA. We have homes in both places. I don’t go to school, I am home schooled by my mom. That’s one reason we can be away for a long time. I’m twelve years old and I’m going to be in the eighth grade this fall of 2020. With all the uncertainties going on about going back to school, I’m glad that I don’t have to worry about going to school.

My dad is a Canadian citizen, and he quit working when he was only eighteen years old to start a business. Now, he owns a few businesses. He is also a business consultant, helping business owners to become successful. He is also a speaker and an author. When we travel, we meet people who ask him, “How can you stay away for so long?” So he wrote a book to answer those questions. His book is called “Unlock Your Resources and Thrive”, and you can buy it at any bookstore. He also has a Podcast that talks about business. My mom is an immigrant from the Philippines. She helps my dad with his business, and she home schools me and helps me manages my social media stuff.

People ask me all the time if I like to be home school. I really like being home schooled because I can travel anytime. I can finish my school work whenever I want to, and I can do everything in my pajamas if I want to. People also ask me which countries I like better. Is it Canada or the United States? I like the warm temperature in Florida in the winter, and because I can go to Universal Studios, my favorite theme park which is right next door. I’ve been to every amusement parks in Florida, but I love Universal Studios because it has Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I’m what you call a “Potterhead”. My parents and I also love going to the beach in Florida. I really like Canada also because in the summer time, we go hiking, camping, swimming, and we other outdoor activities. In New Brunswick, we have mountains, river, lakes, and waterfalls. It’s really beautiful. You can read my previous posts titled The Mighty Miramichi River and There’s a Giant Lobster in Shediac. I have another post post coming up about St. Andrews-by-the-Sea.

Both countries are really great and that’s why we split our time between the Canada and USA. I can’t decide which one I like better though. My family loves to travel, we love road trips and cruising. I don’t know when can we travel abroad again. My parents said, maybe when the vaccine for COVID19 is out and tested, then my family will feel safe to travel again. I don’t even know if we will go back to our home in Florida this year because of COVID19. Right now, there are too many cases of COVID19 in Florida alone, but in New Brunswick, Canada which where we are right now, it’s virtually COVID19 free. That’s why we are able to do some mini vacations.

The picture was below was taken in Mijas, Spain in November 2019. We have something exciting coming. Stay tune for the next big epic, epic trip.

    I love traveling too.
Thank you for the follow, Ariela. Good day!

  2. I am really fond of you writing about your travels ! The TRIO’s. Will wait for more updates! Ariela

  3. Interesting life I may say! You must be very disciplined to be homeschooled, good for your mom to support you on that, and your social media (some teenagers think they can do it on their own and being bullied in turn in the social media sites). Looking forward to your new adventure!

  4. You sound so happy dear! I love the idea of being a snow ❄ 🐦 bird
    I like Harry P too.
Covid is the pits, I know. It’s like the Depression or the War, or chicken pox—-we will get through it together, and then we will share that experience together. 🌻
I home schooled my kids too. Until jr. High. It was lovely.
    Enjoyed reading 📚 your post.
