Twenty Months 😱

Hello everyone! It’s me, Ariela! Well, I mean… of course it’s me! Who else would it be?

If you are from North America, you’ve probably heard that the border crossing between Canada and the US is finally opened up! It was opened in November 8, and it has been twenty long months since my family was in the US! When the pandemic started, we left our second home in Orlando, Florida in March of 2020. We locked up our condo and drove back up north to Canada. We stayed in Canada for twenty months and traveled across Canada from the east, to the west, from New Brunswick to British Columbia! My parents and I had an awesome time exploring our beautiful country, and we were very thankful thank we had the opportunity to do that. πŸ™‚ You can read all my previous posts about my Canadian travels on my “Travels Around Canada” category!

Sooooo, we are back in Florida, but on the way down we stopped in Savannah, Georgia for a day to do some sightseeing. I will write a post about Georgia next week, so stay tuned for that one πŸ˜‹ I was so happy to be back because I missed Florida so much 😩πŸ₯Ί Twenty months is a looooong time. Crossing the border was easy, we showed our proof of vaccinations, and we were good to goooo. πŸ˜„ And the best part was we didn’t need to stick any Q-Tips up our noses and await Covid test results! The drive down was smooth and there was not a lot of traffic. Road conditions were pretty great as well, because there was no snow yet up north which was really, really good. Because Snow means that it’s cold. And cold means the snowbirds haven’t migrated south on time! πŸ˜πŸ˜‹πŸ₯Άβ„β˜ƒ From Savannah, it is only a four-hour drive to Orlando so I was getting excited. We decided to have dinner first before going in the condo because it was dinner time when we arrived in Orlando, and we don’t have anything to eat at the condo… Unless we wanted stale canned food-or whatever we had in the cabinets. 😬 We ate at my one of my favorite fast-food restaurants that I missed so much, Chick-Fil-A! Y’know, the place where they have cows as their mascots but they serve chicken, and where the chicken has 55 ingredients! (I mean, seriously, a chicken sandwich is just chicken sandwiched between two pieces of bread, and maybe served with a pickle-why does it need 55 ingredients? Dimethylpolysiloxane is one of them… how do you even pronounce that?)

I still like Chick-Fil-A πŸ˜πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

But yeah, after Chick-Fil-A, we went to the condo and there were a couple of dead cockroaches, one dead lizard, and a few other dead bugs waiting for us once we got home. And I could’ve sworn I saw a lizard scurrying ’round here somewhere… πŸ€”

It’s good to be back!

See you next time! Bye!

  1. Glad you’re back in a place you love! I have noticed Covid regulations are changing all the time and it’s weird keeping track of them. My Dad flew in from California in late October to help me with taking care of my Mum and he had to get rapid tests to come here and go back to the US. Plus, when he arrived in Calgary, he was randomly selected for COVID-19 testing. So, he was tested three times in one week! I just heard the rules on that changed, which was annoying. But oh well, emergencies don’t happen on schedule. I know a number of people who have been travelling to see loved ones of late, and it’s a really nice thing to see! I’m happy for you!

    1. Wow, your poor dad, I mean 3 Covid tests in one week?! That’s crazy! And thank you, it’s nice to be back in the USA (even if it is crazier than Canada, I like crazy πŸ˜†)

      1. It really was! I hated that he was selected for random COVID-19 testing at YYC when I wanted to hug him after not seeing him for a year! Sometimes crazy mixes things up lol. Happy US Thanksgiving for tomorrow!

  2. DIE-METHEL-POLLIE- SIGH-LOCK-ZANE

I often have to read chemical names.

I didn’t know about your Florida home! Lots of anti-vaxers down there – keep your mask on!!! Omatra7 is fully vaxed but got a bad breakthru infection while visiting family in TX.

I hope you have a nice winter with the snow birds! What’s the current price to get into D-World? D-Land, by me, has increased to $194 for prime days.

    1. Spot on with that pronunciation πŸ‘πŸ½ I always wear a mask when I’m out, even though I’m vaccinated. FL is nice! I’m enjoying my time here, and I don’t go to Disney that much so I can’t tell you a price, you’ll have to check online 😜😊🀍
