World Embrace

Have you ever heard of the organization called World Embrace in Uganda? In this post I’m going to tell you all about this organization and what they do. I haven’t been to Uganda yet, but I hope to go there soon once it is safe to travel. We were supposed to go in the fall, but we cancelled our trip because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We were really looking forward to going because when we were in Florida, we actually got a chance to meet the people who run the whole organization. They are fellow Canadians who are living in Gulu. They said the Safari tour at the Murchison Falls National Park is the best! There is also gorilla trekking and rhino trekking! I think that would be very cool. Uganda is in the continent of Africa, and the first country I visited in the Africa was Morocco. I will tell you more about it next time.

World Embrace is an organization that is working to build a children’s playground and sports park in Gulu, Uganda. It’s NOT going to be your average neighborhood playground, no, this is going to be huge. If you want to see the actual plans for the park you can check out the website https://www.worldembrace.org/ The reason they are building a children’s park is because there was a war for twenty years and children were forced to fight, but now there is peace. They want to give kids a safe place to play so they can have fun, and kids can be kids, and they can’t get into trouble. Plus, some local churches are working with them as well.

I think a sports park and playground is a great idea because the kids in Uganda don’t get a lot of things or the have the lifestyle that the kids here in North America get. Children like me are very privileged, I’m able to travel with my parents everywhere. My parents said, if your toilet flushes you are better off than 2.3 billion people that do not have a toilet. I think that the kids in Uganda should get better things too. To me, traveling opens my eyes to others who are in need especially the children. I would like to give back, and help World Embrace to raise money for their project, Gulu City Park.

If you’ve been reading my blog and are enjoying what you read, help me to help the kids in Uganda. I want to raise funds and one hundred percent of your donation will go to World Embrace. Send me a message on the Contact page and I will set you up. Any amount can make a big difference. All the money does NOT go to my dad so he can buy me things, I promise! I think that’s it for today, stay tuned for more!
