Canada’s Warmest Welcome

Hello everyone! You guys have probably been wondering where we have been for a while, I kept saying, ‘’the Okanagan Valley,’’ but I never really said WHERE exactly… We are staying in Osoyoos, (pronounced “soo-yoos”). The name Osoyoos means ‘’narrowing of the waters’’ in the Okanagan language (Syilx’tsn), and it was originally supposed to be ‘’soo-yoos” but the settlers wanted to add an “O” because the other towns start with an “O” such us Oliver, Okanagan Falls, Omak, and Oroville.

Northwest Coast Art

It’s been more than two months since my family and I arrived in the west coast of Canada, and it’s good because I’ve seen things I don’t normally see in the east coast where I live. Northwest Coast Art is the term commonly applied to a style of art created primarily by artists from Tlingit, Haida, Heiltsuk, Nuxalk, Tsimshian, Kwakwaka’wakw, Nuu-chah-nulth and other First Nations and Native American tribes of the Northwest Coast of North America.
